The Pets I Love

Ainsley was asked to bring a picture of her with her pets to nursery on Sunday. Jayne took some cute pictures.

A day at the ZOO!

Last Wednesday a dear friend of mine (Kristie) invited us and some other moms to go to the zoo. Wednesday is half price day so it only cost me 5 dollars and Ainsley was free. We had a blast! Ainsley was really interested in the animals this time and enjoyed being around other kiddos too. One pic is of all the kids together. We had a pretty good size group. It was a lot of fun to get out of the house and do something exciting with Ainsley. I cant wait till the group does another field trip because we are for sure going. Thanks Kristie for inviting us! We had a great time. Our favorite was the monkeys and elephants of course. Most of the cats were lazy and sleeping but the monkeys were fully awake and active so it was so much fun to see them interact with each other.

Bad day....

Today was a pretty awful day, right from the start.

8:15 AM

The Discount Tire of Keller (on 377) is more concerned with getting my car out of their garage bay than with helping me figure out what to do about my car. I went to get new tires for the MR-S, and after I have paid for the tires and have the car up on a jack, one of the employees signals to me. When I go to see what he wants, he asks me for my lug nut key... umm, I don't have one, because the car didn't come with it.

The grease monkey at Discount Tire in Keller (on 377) tells me I should go back to the dealer and have them straighten it out. Right... the dealer in Houston... no chance of that happening. "Can I just buy a key for it?" His response (while he's motioning another grease monkey to get my car out of the garage and bring another in) is that I could go through 20 keys before finding one that fits. "Do you want to take your tires with you?" What?! Where would you suggest I put them... not too impressed with the Discount Tire of Keller (on 377).

The rest of the day was fine until about 10:00PM...

Southlake Carroll lost against Miami Northwestern... that's all I care to say for now... it's just too fresh on my mind.

12:30 AM (Sunday, so I guess technically it is another day, but work with me here).

Get online to check the football scores: Utah has blown out UCLA (the team we lost against last week), and BYU has lost to Tulsa. Tulsa?! I am going to bed and hoping that tomorrow will be a little better.

Gaylord Texan Summer f(un)-Festival

This Last Saturday we went to the Gaylord Texan in Grapevine. There was supposed to be a summer "festival" of sorts, but it certainly wasn't as festive as we hoped it would be. The "Monkey Show" didn't quite turn out to be as spectacular as monkeys should be - it was just this one lady with her ONE monkey... oh well. It was certainly worth all $10 it cost to park...

We did go eat at Los Amigos afterwards, so that made it all worth it. Next time you're in Grapevine, check out Los Amigos - it is one of my favorites.
