Counting down (less than two hours)...

I will be making my way to GameStop at midnight to pick up my copy of GTA IV. This game is going to be incredible if it lives up to the hype. IGN rated it a perfect 10, the first perfect rating given by the site since 1999. After watching the preview gameplay footage, this is NOT a kids game, or even a game for teenagers. Come to think of it, I shouldn't even be playing this game... I have already promised to never play this when Ainsley is awake - I actually don't ever play video games when she is awake, but most certainly not this one. As my bro-in-law Kevin put it, it's the poster child for everything that is bad about video games. SWEET!

I want to play this for a little bit tonight, but am afraid that I will be tempted to play longer than I should. So, I may just pick up my copy, come home, read the manual, smell the disc, and try to sleep knowing that I have the game in the house. I know, pathetic.

This also presented me with my first real console dilemna - do I get the XBOX 360 or PS3 version? From reviews that I had read, the PS3 looks a little bit better (less aliasing). The XBOX 360 does have some exclusive downloadable content (exclusive maps or something), but in the end, I decided to go with the PS3 version, and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it will be the right choice.

Busy Busy!

This past weekend was busy! Friday morning was great though. Amy and I met up with some other girls in our ward and went to garage sales. I got Ainsley her birthday gifts all for under $20! I was so excited! I bought her a Barbie Jeep Power Wheels with the battery/charger for 10 bucks! I clean it up and looks brand NEW! It is so cool! That will have to be the best gift. I did get her other things as well but not as cool as the power wheel so I will spare the details. Ainsley is going to have a great birthday for cheap. My philosophy on this is if I can get away with being cheap now then later in life when she can tell me what she wants I wont be able to so I am saving up my money! I love deals, I love finding something for a great price it is like a natural high for me. I get all excited and want to jump up and down!
Friday night was Jonathan's younger bothers Battle of the Bands! It was good! He got second place, and I love the songs he writes! Saturday was Jonathan's younger sisters Opera and it was really good! She did a great job and her voice is amazing! I enjoy having busy weekends actually, it makes me feel like I accomplished something. Most of my week is just hangin out with Ainsley so when I can get out and do stuff then I feel rejuvenated. I have never really been a homebody until I had Ainsley so sometimes I just like to get out and walk around (get some fresh air) or have friends over. So that has been the update with us. Nothing too exciting but fun!

Theater Update

I reading the last theater update that I did on March 27th.  Here is what I listed as goals that I wanted to accomplish:

Riser for second row of seating
Paint
Screen-wall treatment (black GOM Fabric)
New carpet
Power-outlet in ceiling next to projector mount
In-wall wiring for speakers and A/V receiver

After about a month I have finished the first item.  Yeah, this process is crawling along, but of the little bit of progress I have made, I am very happy with it.  I got some help from a guy at church that drives a big truck (better than holding plywood down to the roof of a minivan) and owns more tools than I thought possible for one man to own (compound mitre saws kick serious azz).  We knocked out the riser in about 4-5 hours total where were you and your tools and your truck when we did all of the other stuff, huh?  I would probably be charging people admission by now Anyway, the riser turned out great, and after a little bit of tweaking in the week after we built it, I am quite happy with the result.

I had to ship the projector back to the dealer due to a slight defect (bright corners on the image) I also decided to pay to have one of their ISF certified techs calibrate the replacement projector for half of what I would have to pay someone here to do it.  Score.

I will be ordering these chairs soon.  Unfortunately they wont be shipped until late June, July, or even possibly August!  But, I simply cannot pass up the deal that I am getting on them, but that doesnt make waiting any easier.

All of my Monster Cable order has arrived, so I can begin wiring soon.  I determined that I dont need to wire an outlet up on the ceiling by the projector, but simply need something called a power bridge.  It is kind of like an extension cord that can be run through the walls and come out to an existing outlet.  It will actually look like there is an outlet on the ceiling, but it is just a receptacle that is bridged to another outlet.  So I can just do that when I do all of my other wiring.

SO, that leaves me with the following to do list:

Paint

Screen-wall treatment

Carpet

In-wall wiring / power bridge

Wet Bar area

The last item I have been doing a lot of thinking and designing I hope I can get the wet bar (really a dry bar, there will be no sink, just countertop) done for under $2k.  I talked to a guy at work here that ordered 2 wall cabinets from HD and it cost him $1200!  Zoinks!  Im sure I will post more updates in another month

Sucess!

She is napping in her Big Girl Bed!!! YAY!! I had to take her cd player out of her room so she can't dance around!! But she is sleeping!!

20 April 2008

Big Girl Bed

Well we put Ainsley in her Big Girl Bed! I know we should have done it sooner like most people but I liked putting her in her crib knowing she couldn't get out of bed and walk around and stay awake! So last night after a while of playing around her room (with nothing in it since we took everything but her dresser and bed out of her room. No toys, books, or anything that will keep her up in there.) She finally fell asleep and we went and checked on her and she was in her bed sleeping. She sleep all night in her new bed.
Now nap time is here and it is a little more difficult!!! I want her to take a nap today cause we have late church and afterwards we are having company come over. I want her to be well behaved! So I have resorted for nap time back to her portable crib so she can't get out and wonder around her room! We will see how it goes. Tomorrow I am going to do with out the portable crib to see if she will nap in her Big Girl Bed. But today she needs a nap! If you know Ainsley really well you know she needs her naps and enjoys her 3 to 3 1/2 hours nap on a daily basis. Yes she needs that much sleep to help her be happier as well as a happy mom. So we will see how she does!

Card Swap

I usually don't post my cards that I make for our wards card swap but I was really really proud of this one! It took me FOREVER to cut out all the pieces for the plane! I had to break it up to do 20 of the suckers! But well worth it! The plane flies over when you pull string for the Happy Birthday saying!

Start Your Engines!

THANK YOU to the WONDERFUL Angie and Mickey, they were able to once again give us tickets to the NASCAR event. Samsung 500! THANK YOU! We had a blast! Jonathan Is burned to a crisp! ( I'm a big red tomato! heheee) and I am still white as can be, I put sunblock on and I guess Jonathan didn't think he would get as burned as he did because he actually tans really well. Sadly Jeff Gordon spun out early on in the race but I then started to routing for some one else. It was a beautiful sunny hot day. The food was good! If you go you have to try the HOT ROD DOGS they are so Good! We were able to get the Sprint Fan View Headset. We now think that is the way to go if you go to a nascar event. You can watch replays, get stats, hear what the drivers are saying to their crew, or watch what they are putting on TV so you can hear the announcers! We were also lucky to get that free, just happen to be at the right place at the right time! Go us! We had a great time, I just wish there was more wrecks!

Tagged!

I was tagged so here I go!

Where were you 10 years ago?
I was 16 years old and in high school. Loving every minute of it! I was in everything possible. Theater, dance, debate, FHA, PALS, and probably more I just can't remember it all. I tried everything out at least once. I probably had a crush on someone but I have no clue who now. I had lots of crushes. What teenage girl didn't. My best friends were Katie, Jewel, Edgar, Colt, Shaunon, Michelle, Sarah, Janie, Mellissa, Cayce, and Jessica. Yeah I had a big group of friends. What can I say it was a small town. Not much else to do then hang out with all you friends.

5 Things on my to do list today?
1. Work out
2. take Ainsley to her evaluation
3. laundry
4. finish my book
5. sort through clothes for the free for all fair for church

3 Bad Habits?

1. procrastinate
2. don't go to bed early enough
3. eat too many sweets and not drink enough water

If I were suddenly a billionaire?
I would pay off all our debts! Buy our dream home on a big piece of property! So I can have all the animal I want. Save, Invest, get our food storage and 72 hours completed the exact way I would want them to be done. Travel the world. Help out some family members. Do some shopping for our house, clothes, and other hobbies that we like to do. Set up college funds, mission funds, and wedding funds for our children. Then save the rest.

3. Animal Shelter office manager
4. school teacher aid
5. wife and stay at home mom.

Sorry I only had 4 jobs.

5 Things people don't know about me?

1. Every thing that I do has to be even. Not like Sharee and only like even numbers but if I do something one side of my body when I work out, I have to do it on the other as well. I always have to be fair I guess you can say. If I give a treat to Cali then I have to do the same for Baby. (my puppies). If I do something to one thing I have to do it for the other. Always having to be fair. Even if the object it alive or not a living organism. I feel like everything living or non has feelings.
2. I love things that are small. Something about it makes me want them. Small boxes, bags, trinkets, pens, anything big that you can shrink to little I love!
3.My weird goals in life is to travel to all 50 states which I have a lot them already. As well as travel to as many countries as I can! All the ones that allow us to visit and are safe to visit as well. I love traveling. I love all of it! I love being a tourist. I love site seeing and the whole bit! I love old countries, and learning there culture as well. Germany is one of my favorites, I love the old parts where there are cobble stone roads. I love their windows, the way they have a blind that is on the outside. I just love weird things like that. I love there shops and trinkets.
4. I am very sensitive to light. Once the sun comes up in the morning I have to put on a mask over my eyes to stay asleep.
5. I am obsessed with the Amish community. I loved living in NY because we were in Amish country! I even had an Amish man wave to me while on his buggy. I would find the houses they lived at.

I now tag! Jenn (my sister), Jen my BF in ID, Natalie, Nora, Michelle, Ashley, Nicole, and Susan.

A fun Saturday

Saturday I was able to go and visit with one of my best friends! We met on our first day in kindergarten. We were in the same class. And since then we have always been best friends. We always call we need advice or some type of up lift. We call to complain or call to just plain chat. She live 2 hours away so we don't get to see each other often. But we plan to change that. AT least once a month and we can meet in the middle. We enjoyed some good Mexican food our favorite and some good shopping! Thank you Katie for hanging out with me! I had a blast!!! I miss you already!!
Katie and I at El Chico!

Katie's adorable Kids Cailynn, Dakota, and Emily.

Katie's pictures from last year! So cute!
Just Katie! So pretty!
Cailynn, so cute!
Emily, the happiest baby ever!

Her April babies. I love this pic! All her kids are born in April and Katie's birthday is in April as well! Busy month. Makes matters worse Katie and 2 of her kids share the same birthday! For some reason I thought they all did but I was wrong. All but one.
Dakota., so handsome.

Blah

I am having a blah day! I wish I lived in Sanger or even Denton or even Lake Dallas. Which are all really close to Sanger. So I could hang out with my friends more. My one really close friend is moving to Idaho in a month. SUCKS!
I want to own a Prius so I can go to Sanger more often when I have these blah days where I just need to be around some good old friends.
I also want to become friends with my sisters-in-laws. So that I become a friend not just a SIL. But have no idea where to start with that. I want to be closer to my own sisters who are quit a bit older than me but also have no idea where to start. The kind of friend they call to talk to and chat about what is on their mind or going on in their life.
Those are the things that are going through my head. Just a blah day. I should have convinced Jonathan to live close to Sanger. Dang it I wish it was closer to his work and had better school systems. I wish gas was back to a dollar a gallon. I wish I didn't have that feeling that I needed that one close friend to live close to. Oh well it will happen I can wait. Jamie did come along, but she leaving.
Just a blah day.

02 April 2008

YAY!

I finally got Girlie's hair in a Ponytail. I was playing around with her hair after her bath and got it all in one! As long as it stayed wet once it started drying the little hairs were coming out. But it is a start.

The Klingler side Easter Party

We also celebrated Easter with Jonathan's side of the family a week late because his parents were in Mississippi for Easter weekend. So we got lots of Easter Egg Hunts. First we ate dinner. Then we had a Easter egg hunt for the kids (Ainsley and her cousin Tyler). It was pretty easy do to there age. But a lot of fun. Then the real fun began. The boys hid 208 eggs through out the house. The only places they couldn't hide was the bedroom and the bathrooms but everything else fair game. So we went looking it took at least an hour if not longer. The boys had some really really good hiding places that we wouldn't have looked at. We gave up with only missing like 3 eggs. So I think we did pretty good looking for them. Man some of the places they came up with. Way to funny! Plus we had so much fun! Then after that we enjoyed some good ol' conversation. Good Times!!

Grandma giving Ainsley her prize for finding a special bunny egg.
Putting all her stickers on Grandpa and her self to match.

Ainsley drummin out! She is a pro!

Lovin on Aunt Susie

She really enjoys music she loves playing on piano's!

Easter Hunt play group

I know I am late on the posting but oh well, at least I am doing it. Last week the playgroup for our church had an Easter Egg hunt. I do realize it was after Easter but the week before it was planned and it rained like crazy so we put it off for a week. Which is good because then Easter can be longer than a day. I like it that way. Any ways Ainsley had a lot of fun and she just wanted to open up the egg as soon as she got it so she could at her treat which was pretty cute but at the same time I wanted her to run and get the eggs. I had to help her along so she wouldn't just sit with one egg opening it. Oh well. Then we played at the playground. She always has fun at parks. It was so much fun!
