Klingler mini reunion

Well Jonathan's family had a mini reunion. Jonathan's brothers family Randy are moving to Israel for 18 months for work and his parents are moving to Oregon. So while they are in route to their locations they stopped here first. We took pictures, ate, went swimming, and busted a pinata. Plus just hanging out having a good old time. I am so glad we were able to all see each other since it will be a long time till we all get together again.

The Moorman Family Reunion

So the main reason for going to Tennessee was to go the the first ever Moorman Family reunion! My cousin Karen put it together and she did an amazing job!! It was great seeing all my cousins and their children and even grandchildren. I am the 2nd to the youngest grandchild of the Moorman clan so I have some 2ND cousins that are my age. After chowing down and visiting we had all the original Moormans, my dads and his siblings go on a stage and tell some crazy stories about growing up together. It was so funny! Their stories are a mix of Dukes of Hazards meets Brother where out thou. So funny! Then the water gun fight began which if you don't have a gun you became an easy target no one was safe. Then we went up a huge hill and watched the firework show. It was a busy but fun day, cant wait to do it again.

Rock City on Look Out Mountain Tennessee Day 2

We went to Rock City on Look Out Mountain Tennessee. It is all natural caves, tight squeezes between rocks, they have deer and goats. There is one spot that you can see 7 states from the look out. We did this just as our own family activity. It was fun and so beautiful so see. Plus it is walking distance from my dads old stomping grounds.

Hangin out with the Moormans

The first night we were their we went to my Uncle Lamar and Aunt Gail's house to just chat and visit each other. We were laughing so hard by the end. The stories my dad and his siblings have from growing up are so crazy. It was fun listening and catching up with the family.

Fairyland Tennessee

So my dad grew up on Look Out Mountain Tennessee which is on the border of Tennessee and Georgia. He grew up in a small town called Fairyland where all the roads are named after you guess it Fairy tales. It is the cutest town ever! My Uncle Lamar took us around all their old stomping grounds and told us stories as we went. Even ones where they would hide their whiskey moonshine by the school pond. We also went to the old family cemetary that is now owned by Covenant College which is a college where you go to become a preacher. I would actually love to live in Fairyland. It is small and so cute and oh so beautiful! Its amazing up their on the mountain! I loved learning more about the mountain times. Jonathan wants to interview my dad and get all the stories and other info recorded for history. I learned something new that my dad was the only on out of his 7 children who went to college. I couldn't believe it my dad was the first generation in the Moorman family to go to college ever. Way to go dad I am so proud and now look all 3 of your girls went to college!

A house on the mountain that I fell in love with. Its huge!

It looks much nicer now than back then. This was a K-12 school during my dads time.

My dads old house. They sure have kept it nice. Met the owner and he is the son in law of the my dads next door neighbor. Woody Wooten. It was funny to hear stories from him too about how the house was built by his father in law and sold to my grandparents then sold to some one else then sold back to Woody's father in law. His wife last name was Wooten before they married but Woody made sure we knew they were not kin. Makes you wonder huh.

Tennessee Day 1

The first day we were in Tennessee we went to a tourist spot called the Incline Railway. It goes straight up the mountain which is so steep. Before it was a tourist thing this is how people got up and down the mountain if they did not have a car or save money. My grandmother (my dads mom) actually rode it everyday to go to work at a textile factory. Now it is a tourist spot and you can go to the civil war battle field there too. We went on the railway with my sister Jennifer and her family.
Funny story we had to wait in line at the bottom of the mountain and they had a live bluegrass band playing and Bobby was getting down dancing. The band loved it and everyone in the line was cracking it up and loving his entertainment that he was putting on for them. I have to post the video later. It was so cute and awesome!

Mississippi Fun!

On our way to Tennessee we stopped in Mississippi to see Jonathan's parents especially since they are moving to Oregon at the end of the month. We had fun spending time with the grandparents. We went to Golf Port Beach were we had so much fun playing in the sand and swimming. Later that evening we played with remote control helicopters. They were so much fun so my mother in law and I went to a wonderful store called Dirt Cheap! So wish they had salvage stores here in Texas. I got some helicopters for $1 and I also got Ainsley a Easy Bake Oven for $1.25. I so stocked up on presents! So fun!
